John Featherstone is a guitarist,
singer, composer, and arranger based in Paris.
He loves to juxtapose classical and contemporary modes in
his performances, which go from solo concerts to a cross-over
work for two choirs and contemporary chamber group, and all
stations in between.
He tours mainly in Europe but his music also has a following
in the French West Indies, Africa and Quebec.
John has recorded 12 CDs of his own music and his collaborative
work is extensive: arranging performing and producing for
others.
Performance contexts include the Zenith at Strasbourg, Bercy
stadium, Clermont Opera House, various French and UK cathedral
venues, and the Albert Hall in London, as well as small halls,
prisons, bars, and people's front rooms.
John is currently co-writing a musical on the future of the
planet.
Having had a hand made 7-string guitar built for him by Andy
Manson in 2006 he is exploring how much can be said without
words, and his current tour and latest CD 'RESONANCE' is based
around his 7-string instrumental repertoire.
In addition to his concert and composition work, he is collaborating
in Paris with Crescendo, and La Fonderie, two Christian arts
movements.
